Professor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do Sensei

Joseph Cianciotto, Instructor and Co-Founder of The Way Martial Arts, began his martial arts journey in 1989 when he joined Grandmaster Y.H. Park’s Tae Kwon Do Academy in Commack, NY. Y.H. Park was the 1988 United States Olympic coach for Tae Kwon Do and specialized in Olympic style fighting. Joseph competed in many Tae Kwon Do tournaments throughout the years, and was a silver medalist in the New York State Governor’s Cup Championship held at West Point Military Academy, NY in 1994. Joseph continued his Tae Kwon Do training until 2015, when he decided to exclusively train in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He currently holds a third degree Black Belt in the art of Tae Kwon Do.

 Joseph is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with 15 years of experience. He began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2007 at the Xtreme Couture MMA training center in Wellington, FL. There, he trained with Professor Marcelo Ribeiro under the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu system. After Professor Ribeiro relocated to Texas in 2011, Joseph joined the Level Five / Jaco MMA training center in Boca Raton, FL, where he trained under Professor Manny Soares and Professor Jorge Santiago. In 2016, Joseph continued his training exclusively under Professor Jorge Santiago, who opened his own Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Boynton Beach, FL. Professor Jorge Santiago presented Joseph with his black belt in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2017.

 Joseph lives by the ideology of staying true to oneself and always trust the process. He currently resides in Boynton Beach, FL with his lovely wife Lisa and three beautiful children, Christi, Joey, and Tammi. Today, he continues his Jiu-Jitsu journey alongside his devoted friend and Co-Founder of The Way Martial Arts, Professor Herbert Burns.
